Sagalla Herbarium & Bee Fodder Project
Update on Sagalla Herbarium and Bee Fodder Plant project – by Dr Lucy King
We are so proud of our new Sagalla Herbarium just established in our Elephants and Bees Research Center. The herbarium will help us to identify all the bee fodder plants that our healthy honey bees need to survive on, and to produce their spectacular, organic, Elephant-Friendly Honey. We have compiled this in collaboration with the expertise of Ethno-Botanist Anne Powys from the Suyian Trust, and Dr Flora Namu and her team of interns from Kenya’s Karatina University. Thanks to The St Andrews Prize for the Environment for funding our fascinating research!
